Fruit post with Kiwi berry

I thought of making yet another fruit post since I love eating them so much. It's funny how when you thought you tried so many fruits already, there are always some new additions. This month I tried my first kiwi berry, which is essentially a miniature version of a kiwi fruit. It is much sweeter and can basically be eaten whole, which is why it is probably call a berry. I think they are perfect addition to salads, for some sweet/tangy flavour.

I also came across several plum varieties. I did not even know we had so many- I counted five. I'm slightly sad because we are going into winter, which means that I shall enjoy few of the last nectarines and peaches for the season.  However, I shall soon indulge into mandarins.

I managed to grab some passion fruits and figs. They are probably my favourite fruit, but so hard to get hold of, which makes them extra special.

This post will not be filled without a snap of this week's fruit baskets ;)

Random summer fruits post

Here we go: another random fruit post. If there is one reason why I like summer, it is probably for the variety of fruits- nectarines, peaches, apricots, plums and berries! I especially like the gold peaches- they taste exactly the same as the canned ones.

From left to right, and bottom, yellow nectarines, yellow peaches, gold peaches, and donut peaches
Donut peaches - very sweet
Blackberries
More donut peaches and black plums
Raspberries and blueberries

Random fruit basket post

I always enjoy keeping a basket or two of fresh fruits. Fruits are rich in nutritional values that your body needs to keep you healthy. Also, having different variety of them allows you to freshen up your taste buds.
This week I tried fresh fig for the first time ever. I did tried dried fig, but not fresh ones. They are quite hard to find it seems. Anyway, I thought it had a really nice texture. It was not overly sweet, just a little tangy from the flesh and lot of crunchiness from the seeds. I wish I could have one just now.
Apart from this,  I also had my first bite into a red radish. Honestly it was not an enjoyable one. It was very bitter and I was left with a bitter after taste. However, after I combined it with some salad, the taste was quite mild and I started to appreciate the flavour. It just tastes like a daikon, in my opinion.
The daily recommendation of fruits and vegetables are 2 and 5 respectively. I know 2 serves of fruits is not a lot. I usually have more than 2 serves on a regular basis. I think it's better to have another fruit than say a slice of cake or two biscuits.

My version of a fruit salad

Growing up, one of my favourite quick dessert was: fruit cocktail in syrup with nestle dessert cream.

Quick and easy to put up, and an absolute sweet treat.

Now that I am grown-up (no pun intended), I have come with the brillant idea to put up a fruit salad of my own, rather than using the overly sweet canned fruits. Also, instead of the dessert cream, I used greek yogurt. The result is a healthy and nutritious dessert.

Here is a sneak peek at my fruit basket.

Fruity Fruits

I think this is the biggest provision of fruits we ever have so far. There are quite a few choices there. From apples, bananas, cherries, to kiwis, oranges, mandarins, pears and strawberries. Some lemons on the side. I think eating fruits is absolutely one of the best thing in this world. So feel free to have them (recommended portion is about 3 per day). The good thing, in my case, is that I actually feel healthier when and after I eat them, both mentally and physically. They are fat free, contain lot of fibre and help against so many diseases.
One word of advice still is moderation. Even though something is good for you, it does not mean that you have to eat lot and lot and lot of it. It does not equally mean you will be healthier in this way. It is all about balance.Think about it.

Fruits

Okay, have to tell I'm crazy over fruits. I really like to eat fruits because it's fruity, sweet, deli, rich of vitamins, nourishing, healthyyy..hmm okay I stop here or I'll go with the list of synonyms and like and this is not my goal lol.

Here are some pictures of fruits I like to eat.

Mangoes. I like mangoes even more now since I read that they are good for the skin + they are super juicy and smooth. Oranges, fruity, sweet, rich in vitamin C and good for hot weather, it acts like a soothing agent. Banana because it gives you lot of energy and is a fruit that contains natural sugar and all. Apple because they are super healthy- referring to the quote 'An apple a day keeps the doctor away'. Kiwi, just an amazing fruits, give you lot of vitamin C and is deli.
I enjoy to eat lot of other fruits like cherry -full of antioxidants, strawberries, nectarine, peaches, mandarin, avocado (it turns out that I absolutely crazy about it now + it's so healthy for skin and contains good fat), pear, grapes and many other I can't think of now. I know my brain sometimes won't work or I find it hard to concentrate, nothing to worry about coz I'm working on this.
Now why didn't I just say I like to eat all fruits- simply because I'm not super fan of some fruits, namely, rock melon- too sweet for me despite its goodness against cholesterol I believe, watermelon and durian haha believe be this is a no no *blush

Point of the day: Try to eat at least 2-3 fruits a day and you'll see the result. Definitely a must to keep healthy and fit.
