Reflection

Instead of keep on posting dishes I have made, I will devote this post to some reflection. About healthy habits.
I think that when you see all those good looking food, one is most inclined to eat them. However, on the other side, there are all those magazines about telling you to eat healthy, etc or emphasising about the too many diseases . It is quite mixed and you feel quite lost in the midst of all these information, advices. To me, healthy eating is all about balance. I try focus an equilibrium. I think this is the best way to keep a healthy food hygiene without banning any food in your diet. No pressure nothing.

Deconstructed apple custard tart

I wanted to try something. I wanted to make an apple pie since ages. This has been laying at the back of my mind. Sadly I was not willing to make a whole pie because I was sure there would be leftovers. So the idea of making a deconstructed tart hooked me. This is so easy to make. Apple filling with custard. There is that crunchiness from the tart, the acidity and sweetness from the caramelised apple and creaminess from the custard. A perfect combination.

Tomato tuna salad

Alright, back with something healthier. I have been baking quite a lot recently. Not that much but still much more than I would have normally. I trust that I am really improving in the kitchen. I have been watching all these cooking shows lately. Not only the competition ones but the 'real' cooking shows. The latter is much better because it really shows you how to cook. There are a lot of tips. So useful and resourceful.
Anyway today I am showing a rather simple tomato tuna salad. All you need is to chop some tomatoes and onion, mix together, add pepper and salt and then stir in tuna. Eat with soft taco.Serve with some corn kernels and lettuce. Delicious and complete. Yes?

Tomato tarts

These are so easy to make. I kind of really appreciate those puff and shortcut pastry. They definitely make like easier. Basically for these tarts, you use one puff pastry quartered. Brush with olive oil. I would reckon to put them in a preheated oven for about 5 minutes. Take it out and place tomato, cheese and herbs on top. Put back in the oven for another 10-15 minutes until puffy. Don't they amazing?

Coconut macaroon

I saw this in Alive & Cooking show and wanted to try it. Here for recipe. They looked so incredibly good.  Now I can say that they taste ridiculously good as well. Sweet treat.
